EMS Workforce Program

EMS Workforce Program

EMS Workforce Program

Overview

The Texas Legislature is providing $21.7 million to distribute towards funding EMS recruitment, retention, and education.  NCTTRAC is providing scholarship funding to qualified Department of State Health Services (DSHS) licensed EMS providers to increase the EMS workforce within TSA-E.

NCTTRAC will make scholarships available based on DSHS criteria, with special attention given to rural and underserved areas.

Scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first served basis and will be applied to in-person, online, or hybrid EMS courses (EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic).

Top Three Goals

1  Increase personnel actively working on an ambulance

2  Retain currently certified personnel

3  Reduce the burden in rural & underserved areas
