Cardiac Committee

The Cardiac Committee is responsible for the development of an acute cardiac care system for TSA-E. This includes the development of guidelines for rapid transport to appropriate facilities of patients suffering ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI), and other acute cardiac conditions. The Cardiac Committee will provide guidance in the development of pre-hospital assessment tools and treatment guidelines.

Committee Responsibilities & Representation

The following provides a continuation of the committee responsibilities to the TSA-E region:

  1. Create broad stakeholder representation to provide an opportunity to discuss issues related to patient throughput, clinical care, and quality outcomes in Cardiac care.
  2. Develop and maintain the Regional Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) Plan.
  3. Develop and maintain regional performance standards.
  4. Provide oversight of the Heart Safe Community program.

Committee Voting Representatives

 

In accordance with NCTTRAC Bylaws Article IX, there is not a core group of voting representatives identified that comprises the Cardiac Committee. The absence of an identified core group opens voting rights at the committee level to all NCTTRAC Members in good standing.

1. Represented organizations that provide Cardiac services in TSA-E and maintain NCTTRAC Membership in good standing.

The following are the current subcommittees, workgroups, and/or taskforces in effect for any committee related projects or initiatives:

 

Cardiac Arrest Workgroup (CAWG)

The workgroup meeting is currently Ad Hoc.

  • Responsible for data collection, analysis, and dissemination of reports from the Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival (CARES) registry to the region. 
  • Responsible for identification, development, and implementation of EMS/Hospital best practices in cardiac arrest management.

 


 

Heart Safe Community Workgroup (HSC)

The workgroup meetings are Ad Hoc, based on application submissions for the Heart Safe Community program.

Chest Pain Coordinators Workgroup (CPC)

The workgroup meetings are Quarterly, the Third Tuesday of the month from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM.

  • Identify and meet professional development needs for Chest Pain Coordinators in TSA-E.
