HOSPITAL PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM (HPP)
The purpose of these funds is to perform activities in support of the DSHS grant from the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (OASPR) to enhance the ability of participating hospitals and healthcare facilities to improve surge capacity and enhance community and hospital preparedness for public health emergencies by conducting activities at the local/regional level.
LOCAL PROJECT GRANTS
The purpose of these funds is to conduct pre-hospital program activities to develop, upgrade, or expand emergency medical services systems. The funds received during 2017 were distributed to agencies for individual local projects. Agencies were selected through an application process with applications being reviewed by a panel of peer EMS representatives.
The purpose of these funds is similar to the EMS/RAC funds, to assist in the enhancement and delivery of patient care in the EMS and Trauma care system. The most significant difference is that these funds are paid directly to qualifying EMS Providers to support supplies, education and training, communications systems, equipment, and vehicles.
